Mission
The fundamental mission of the foundation is to prevent suicide by addressing key factors that make individuals susceptible to such outcomes. Our efforts extend to members of the Ethiopian community across the United States. The foundation works to model and transfer the core values of academic excellence, sportsmanship, community service, leadership and positive social relationships through a variety of programs designed to engage youth and adults to prevent suicidal risk factors.
What We Do
The Haddis Girma Continuity Foundation is committed to the well being of youth, families and adults alike. Our core mission is to work with you to shape a supportive community where mutual responsibility, cultural and generational connectedness, and emotional and academic support act as preventative measures against risk factors that lead to depression and suicide. We hope that you will use this website to: become more informed about the HGCF, seek resources and information that facilitate a well-balanced lifestyle, and to learn about upcoming events and public services. Ultimately, we must take mutual responsibility for each other and hold ourselves accountable for the achievements and needs of current and future generations.

7th annual Family Recreation Day, previously celebrated as Field Day will be held on Saturday August 13, 2017 with activities starting early in the morning at 8am and ending at 6pm!!! This fun-filled day is designed to bring friends of the Haddis Girma Continuity Forum and families from our Saturday Amharic program with a wide array of activities planned out. From basketball and soccer tournaments with teams of YOUR choice and various field activities to include all kids to grilling up delicious goodies and serving ice cream, this day is truly designed to serve as a family recreation day/to bring all together
And this year, we will be having a morning walk & scavenger hunt by the Charles River for all those who want to join!
As it is the mission of the HGCF in entirety and that of the Field Day, we aim to engage all in a healthy and positive environment. We will be raising funds to support the organization as well as giving all the opportunity to learn, to converse and to reflect on the topic of mental health in the Ethiopian community and beyond.
