It is now universally believed that people can maintain physical, mental/emotional, social, environmental and spiritual wellness (good health) through preventative approach by changing lifestyle such as good nutrition, exercises, and increasing prevention of risk factors. These non-medical prevention/treatment strategies are safe and reliable if utilized consistently and regularly as recommended by the respective developers/professionals of the lifestyle variants. 

 

According to the American Association of Suicidology research we suffer a loss of 1,000,000 people worldwide and 90 Americans everyday due to suicide.  Research revealed that 90% of people who die by suicide have a diagnosable and treatable psychiatric disorder at the time of their death. The CDCP’s report of 2009 indicates that more than 36,000 people have committed suicide per year in the USA, one person every 14.2 minutes. Over one million people have attempted suicide. In the Greater Boston area, not less than 8 individuals of Ethiopian origin committed suicide in the recent past from within the Ethiopian community alone.  So it is important to notify community members about risk factors, warning signs and emergency suicide prevention national and local hotline support services.  The Haddis Girma Continuity Foundation has assembled the following resource links that it deems very helpful and supportive in maintaining ones mental wellness.
